Q&A (MMDA REGULATION NO. 03-001)

It further amends MMC Ordinance No. 78-03 concerning the authorization of traffic law enforcement agencies to tow and impound stalled motor vehicles within Metropolitan Manila and provides for the disposition of unredeemed and abandoned vehicles.

The vehicle must be redeemed within one (1) month from the date of apprehension.

The vehicle shall be sold at public auction on the first Monday of the succeeding month.

Within three (3) days from the date the vehicle was towed and impounded.

An impounding fee of P80.00 per day shall be imposed.

Auctions are held every first Monday of the month.

The winning bidder must pay for the vehicle within one week from the date of auction and retrieve or pull out the vehicle within the same week.

It will be considered an abandoned vehicle and included again in the next auction.

The proceeds are applied to accumulated charges (fine, towing, and impounding fees) and any excess amount is returned to the operator or owner.

It took effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in two newspapers of general circulation in Metropolitan Manila.
