Generally, requests must not specify the military personnel by name but by qualifications, to avoid disturbing the AFP officers’ career management pattern.

One (1) Military Assistant of field grade and one (1) enlisted aide may be assigned to each of: the Vice-President, the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Defense and Security, and the Chairman of the House Committee on National Defense and Security (unless otherwise prescribed by law).
Subject to confirmation of the Secretary of National Defense, the Chief of Staff may authorize an AFP security detail to any civilian office/official or any private entity/person upon request when, in his opinion, it is in the public interest.
It must be for one (1) mission only and not more than thirty (30) days, with orders issued therefor.
The President may assign or detail commissioned and enlisted personnel of the AFP to any civilian government office or entity, or place them on detached service with the Office of the President.
