EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 23

: The Executive Order prescribes the base pay rates for officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, effective October 1, 1962.
: It was promulgated pursuant to the authority vested by section 90 of the National Defense Act, as amended.
: The base pay for a Lieutenant General (Chief of Staff) is P14,300.
: The base pay for a Major General is P12,400.
: The prescribed base pay for a Brigadier General (Commodore) is P9,000.
: Executive Order No. 4, dated July 11, 1946, as amended, is modified accordingly by EO No. 23.
: Colonels receive P7,200 and Lieutenant Colonels receive P6,200 as base pay under this order.
: The base pay rates became effective on October 1, 1962.
: The rank corresponding to the base pay rate of P3,200 is Second Lieutenant (Ensign).
: Salvador L. Marias served as the Executive Secretary who attested the order.
: EO No. 23 prescribes base pay only for officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
