Q&A (DDB BOARD REGULATION NO. 01, S. 2004)

It prescribes the drug test fees for government-owned and private drug testing laboratories accredited by the Department of Health.

The authority is derived from Section 81 (b), Article IX of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The fees apply to both government-owned and private drug testing laboratories accredited by the Department of Health.

Government-owned drug testing laboratories can charge a maximum fee of P200.00 per person.

Private drug testing laboratories can charge a fee not exceeding P250.00 per person.

The fees include the cost of screening and confirmatory drug tests when needed.

1st offense: Reprimand; 2nd offense: Suspension of the License to Operate; 3rd offense: Revocation of the License to Operate.

It took effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in two newspapers of general circulation and after registration with the Office of the National Administrative Register (ONAR).

The Department of Health must accredit the drug testing laboratories subject to these fees.

Repeated violations lead to escalating sanctions: first a reprimand, then suspension of the license to operate, and ultimately revocation of the license to operate on the third offense.
