EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 485

: Executive Order No. 485, dated December 3, 1951, established the municipality of Balatan.
: Balatan was organized from a portion of the southern part of the municipality of Nabua, Camarines Sur.
: Section 68 of the Revised Administrative Code was cited as the legal basis for the creation of the new municipality.
: The municipality of Balatan consists of the barrios of Siramag (the seat of government), Caorasan, Tapayas, and all sitios within the defined boundaries.
: Balatan begins to exist upon the appointment and qualification of its mayor, vice mayor, and a majority of its councilors.
: MBM No. 1 (Big Rock) is the point of beginning used to define the precise geographic boundaries of Balatan as detailed in the executive order.
: Elpidio Quirino was the President who signed the Executive Order creating Balatan.
: The Provincial Board of Camarines Sur recommended the creation of the independent municipality of Balatan.
: The boundaries were defined using magnetic bearings and scaled distances as reproduced from the Map of Coast and Geodetic Survey.
