Executive Order No. 788 prescribes the initial clothing allowance in kind and the new rate of clothing maintenance allowance for cadets of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) and the Philippine Air Force Flying School (PAFFS).
The Minister of National Defense, upon the recommendation of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), has the authority to prescribe the items and quantity of clothing for each cadet of the PMA and PAFFS.
The initial clothing allowance shall be given in kind to each cadet upon appointment as such.
Each cadet shall receive a clothing maintenance allowance in cash amounting to not less than One Hundred Pesos (P100.00) a month.
The clothing maintenance allowance is intended to cover the cost of laundry, repair, and other expenses necessary to maintain the presentability and prolong the usefulness of the clothing items.
The funds needed to implement this Order shall be charged against the Annual Appropriations of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
All rules, regulations, and other issuances or parts thereof that conflict with this Executive Order are repealed or modified accordingly.
This Executive Order took effect upon approval on March 28, 1982.
The adjustment was necessary due to the continuing increase in prices of uniforms and commodities, making the previous rates inadequate.
