Republic Act No. 678 is an act creating the Municipality of Mallig in the Province of Isabela.
The barrios separated to create the Municipality of Mallig include Holy Friday, San Jose (East), and San Jose (West) from the Municipality of Roxas; Casili, Olango 1.A, Olango 2.A, San Jose Nuevo, and Manano from the Municipality of Ilagan; Barucbuc, Siempre Viva, Bimmonton, Pasurgong, Manga, and Settlement No. 1 from the Municipality of Tumauini; and Abut and Minagbag from the Municipality of Sto. Tomas.
The Municipality of Mallig is located in the Province of Isabela.
The seat of government is at the present site of the barrio of Olango 1.A.
The boundary is described through a series of corners and directions starting from M.B.M. 1, Mp. of Gamu (corner 1), with precise bearings and distances delineating the perimeter, following landmarks such as the Imbiao Creek and Mallig River, covering approximately 28,427 hectares.
The first mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors of the new municipality shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines.
They hold office until their successors have been elected in the following provincial and municipal elections, which are to be held after the 1951 election, and have qualified duly.
The Act took effect upon its approval on April 8, 1952.
