The main purpose of Republic Act No. 7437 is to expand and upgrade the Lakewood Municipal Hospital in the Municipality of Lakewood, Zamboanga del Sur, from a ten-bed capacity municipal hospital into a twenty-five-bed capacity district hospital, to be known as the Lakewood District Hospital.
The new bed capacity after the upgrade is twenty-five beds.
The Lakewood District Hospital is located in the Municipality of Lakewood, Province of Zamboanga del Sur.
The original bed capacity was ten beds.
Section 2 provides that the amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.
The Act took effect upon its approval on April 23, 1992.
It was approved by then President Corazon C. Aquino.
The Senate and the House of Representatives of the Philippines passed RA 7437.
The House of Representatives finally passed the Act on May 16, 1991, and the Senate on February 3, 1992.
The hospital is officially named the Lakewood District Hospital.
