The converted vehicle must undergo annual maintenance and inspection by the BPS-certified conversion/installing shop, and the shop must issue a Certificate of Inspection and Maintenance Compliance (CIMC).

Any accident that may arise as a result of conversion/installation defects shall be the accountability of the conversion/installing shop.

The motor vehicle inspector must ensure the fill valve is located outside the vehicle compartment and isolated from the auto-LPG container.

An appropriate sticker marked “LPG” must be posted on the fill valve cover for each unit installed, and on the upper-left corner of the vehicle’s windshield. The windshield sticker must also bear a warning message that says “not allowed to park on an enclosed parking space.”

The inspector must check that the conversion shop concerned officially affixed the PS Mark as per the implementing guidelines of PNS 05:1983 (and future revisions).

A certified true copy of the Certificate of Conversion/Installation issued by the BPS-certified conversion/installing shop.

A certified true copy of the Certificate of Inspection and Maintenance Compliance issued by a BPS-certified conversion/installing shop.

For spark ignition engines: CO and HC thresholds depend on whether first registered on/before 31 Dec 2002 or on/after 1 Jan 2003. For compression ignition engines: opacity (light absorption coefficient) must not be more than 2.5 1/m (as stated in the text).

The test procedures described in Annexes B and C of DENR DAO 2000-81.

No auto-LPG motor vehicle shall be accepted for registration if the conversion center that issued the required certificates is not included in the list of certified conversion shops provided by DTI-BPS.

Registration fees are pursuant to R.A. 8794, the Motor Vehicle User’s Charge (MVUC) Law.
