The main purpose is to organize the barrio of Kauswagan and certain sitios of the municipality of Iligan into an independent municipality called Kauswagan.
The barrio of Kauswagan and the sitios of Linamon, Magoong, Purakan, Rebukon, Samburun, Lapayan, Takub, and Kawit of the municipality of Iligan.
The seat of government is at the barrio of Kauswagan.
Boundaries start at the mouth of the Rupagan River on Iligan Bay, west of Kilometer Post No. 47 at sitio Kawit, follow upstream the river to M.B.M. No.1; eastward in a straight line through M.B.M. Nos. 2, 3, and 4 until intersecting the west bank of the Agus River; downstream following Agus River to its junction with Linamon River; then downstream along Linamon River to its mouth on Iligan Bay.
The municipality of Iligan retained its present territory excluding the territory that was organized into the municipality of Kauswagan.
The organization took effect on April 25, 1948.
The Secretary of the Interior recommended the organization.
The Chief of the Executive Office signed the order by the authority of the President of the Philippines.
