Republic Act No. 1147

: The main purpose of Republic Act No. 1147 is to provide for the holding of certain civil service examinations once every two years and to authorize the appropriation of fifty thousand pesos for this purpose.
: The Act mandates the holding of first and second grade and regular and promotional junior teachers civil service examinations.
: The examinations must be held at least once every two years.
: The Bureau of Civil Service must conduct the examinations within one hundred twenty (120) days from the date of release of the authorized funds.
: The examinations are to be held in the City of Manila and in such other places as the Commissioner of Civil Service may determine.
: The results must be released within nine months from the date of each examination.
: Fifty thousand pesos was initially appropriated to fund the examinations.
: The initial appropriation should come from any funds in the National Treasury otherwise appropriated.
: After the initial appropriation, the necessary funds for the examinations shall be provided in the annual General Appropriation Act.
