It is equal to five percent (5%) of the gross earnings for electric current sold under the franchise.

Three percent (3%) accrues to the national government, and two percent (2%) accrues to the municipality where the franchise operates.

The grantee shall be liable to pay the same taxes on his business, real estate, buildings, and personal property, exclusive of the franchise, unless exempted by law—like other persons or corporations.

The Act takes effect upon the expiration of the municipal franchise granted to Leopoldo T. Calderon, Jr.

The authorization applies in the event the grantee purchases and secures energy and power from NPC or Meralco (or both).
