Q&A (Act No. 2305)

The fiscal year is the period beginning on January 1 and ending on December 31 of the same calendar year.

It applies to the Government of the Philippine Islands, any branch thereof, and to the government of any political division or subdivision of the Philippine Islands.

They must be rendered as soon as practicable after January 1 of each year.

They covered the six months beginning July 1, 1913.

Official copies must be filed in both Spanish and English.

They must be filed by the Executive Secretary with the Philippine Legislature at the beginning of each regular session.

They should be construed to mean a fiscal year ending December 31, when referring to any period of twelve months after December 31, 1913.

The words "thirty-first day of December" shall be considered substituted for the same purposes.

It terminates on December 31, 1913.

Fiscal years are numbered according to the calendar year, beginning January 1 of each year.

They are repealed to the extent of their inconsistency with this Act.

The Act took effect upon its passage on December 19, 1913.
