Memorandum Circular No. 6 dated November 8, 2010 authorizes the participation of professional foresters from various government sectors in the 62nd Anniversary National Convention and Forum of the Society of Filipino Foresters, Inc. on official travel/business.
Professional foresters in the National Government Agencies (NGAs), Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and Local Government Units (LGUs) are authorized to attend the convention.
The theme is "Sound Forestry Governance: The Way Forward."
It will be held on November 11-13, 2010 at the Dakak Beach Resort, Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte.
The participation aims to help professional foresters learn about current issues in forestry management, interact with colleagues and experts, exchange experiences, and support efforts toward sound forestry governance and national development.
The expenses will be chargeable against the available funds of the respective agencies of the participants, subject to existing budgetary, accounting, and auditing laws and regulations.
Their attendance must not adversely affect the functions of their respective agencies, especially the delivery of public service.
The sectors covered include National Government Agencies (NGAs), Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and Local Government Units (LGUs).
Paquito N. Ochoa, Jr., then Executive Secretary, signed the memorandum.
The memorandum authorizes attendance but attendance is subject to the condition that it will not adversely affect agency functions, implying agencies have discretion based on operational needs.
