The Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC) was disestablished by Executive Order No. 93.
The Manila Bay Task Force under Administrative Order No. 16 was designated to take the lead in the overall implementation of the Pasig River rehabilitation Master Plan.
The DENR is tasked to ensure enforcement of easements in the esteros and waterways that drain into the Pasig River, and to abate dumping of untreated industrial wastewater and sewerage into the river, including enforcement against violations of Presidential Decree Nos. 948 and 274.
DHSUD is responsible for expediting the relocation of informal settlers and unauthorized occupants along the banks of Pasig River and enforcing Proclamation No. 704 in collaboration with DENR and the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor.
The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government, local government units, and the Philippine National Police Maritime Group, handle dismantling and removal of illegal structures along the Pasig River.
The disestablishment was supported by the Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022's right-sizing policy, Section 17 Article VII on presidential control over executive departments, and EO No. 292 provisions on administrative reorganization for efficiency.
MMDA is responsible for flood control and sewerage management in Metro Manila, including policies, standards, programs, and projects for integrated flood control, drainage, and sewerage systems as provided under RA No. 7924.
Winding up was to be completed within sixty (60) days from the effectivity of the Executive Order.
The winding-up includes supervision of the PRRC’s final disposition or transfer of functions, obligations, assets, and liabilities, as well as separation or transfer of personnel under applicable laws, rules, and regulations, supervised by the DBM with consultation with DENR and MMDA.
Executive Order No. 54, as amended, was repealed by EO No. 93.
