MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2018-01

: The Casio Calculator fx-991ES and fx991ES PLUS are specifically disallowed in the licensure examinations.
: The memorandum took effect fifteen days following its complete publication in the Official Gazette or any newspaper of general circulation after May 28, 2018.
: Engr. Praxedes Bernardo, Chairman of the Board of Civil Engineering, requested the exclusion due to their programmable features.
: They were disallowed due to their programmable features which are not allowed in licensure examinations.
: Examinees may only use one (1) calculator during the examination.
: No, borrowing, lending, and substitution/replacement of calculators while the examination is in progress are strictly prohibited.
: Calculators are subjected to strict and thorough inspection to ensure they do not have audio-visual features or are not tampered or improvised.
: Room watchers and supervisors are responsible for vigilant inspection of calculators.
: It amends Memorandum Circular No. 2009-21 particularly on the deletion of Casio Calculator fx-991ES and fx991ES PLUS from the list of non-programmable calculators allowed.
