Casio Calculator fx-991ES and fx991ES PLUS are disallowed.
It amends Memorandum Circular No. 2009-21.
Because the Engineering Board requested exclusion due to their programmable features; the Engineering and Technology Board members interposed no objection.
It updated the list of non-programmable calculators that may be used in licensure examinations.
It took effect on January 6, 2010 after publication in the Official Gazette.
The examinees may be allowed to use only one (1) calculator during the examination.
No. Borrowing, lending, and substitution/replacement of calculators while the examination is in progress are strictly prohibited.
Calculators used in the licensure examinations shall be subjected to strict and thorough inspection.
They must exercise vigilance in the inspection of calculators to ensure the calculators do not have audio-visual features or are not improvised/tampered.
Inspectors must ensure calculators do not have audio-visual features, or if they are improvised/tampered to include such features, they should be disallowed.
It amends that list by deleting Casio Calculator fx-991ES and fx991ES PLUS from the allowed non-programmable calculators.
After fifteen (15) days following its complete publication in the Official Gazette or in any newspaper of general circulation.
The Commission adopted it on 20 April 2018.

The Engineering and Technology Board Chairpersons and Members interposed no objection to the recommendation to disallow the specific calculators.
