The Philippine government implements a nationwide tree planting campaign involving multiple government departments to promote beautification, environmental development, and anti-pollution efforts.

The Secretaries of Agriculture, Natural Resources, Public Highways, Education and Culture, Local Government and Community Development, and National Defense are tasked with implementation.

The Secretary of Agriculture, along with the Secretary of Natural Resources, is directed to provide necessary materials and guidelines on how to plant ornamental, fruit, and other kinds of trees.

The Secretary of Public Highways is tasked to ensure that fruit and ornamental plants and trees are planted along highways in locations that do not pose a hazard to motorists.

The Secretary of Education and Culture is required to mandate the planting of trees by pupils and faculty members in all public and private school campuses or other places designated after consultation with local mayors. Agricultural schools must also establish nurseries to provide seeds or seedlings.

Provincial, city, and municipal governments are required to maintain nurseries to provide seeds or seedlings for distribution to barangays within their jurisdiction.

Every barangay member is required to plant at least ten trees annually and properly care for them to ensure their growth.

The Secretary of National Defense must require the planting of trees in all military camps and reservations.

It is part of the nation’s broader beautification, environmental development, and anti-pollution program.

Trees planted along highways must not pose hazards to motorists, ensuring safety in their placement.
