The Municipality of Burgos was reconstituted as an independent municipality on January 1, 1913.
Act No. 946, promulgated by the Philippine Commission on October 15, 1903, merged the town of Nagpartian with Bangui.
Executive Order No. 87 (series 1912) separated Nagpartian from Bangui, making it an independent municipality.
The name Nagpartian was changed to Burgos on February 28, 1914, pursuant to Act No. 2390.
The Municipality of Burgos was named in honor of the martyred priest Jose Burgos.
All concerned departments, agencies, national government instrumentalities, state universities and colleges (SUCs), government-owned or controlled corporations (GOCCs), and local government units (LGUs) are enjoined to support the observance.
The proclamation was signed on January 9, 2013.
