EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 717

: The main purpose is to declare the Pasig River dredging and rehabilitation works as a Presidential Priority Project to address pollution, unsanitary conditions, and to improve its role as a navigational route and flood mitigation conduit.
: The Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC) under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is the lead agency in the project's implementation.
: The Constitution mandates the State to protect and promote the right of the people to a balanced ecology and sustainable economy in accordance with nature's rhythm and harmony.
: It serves as a crucial link for the transport of goods and people, a natural navigational route to decongest road networks, and a conduit for floodwaters to alleviate flooding in Metro Manila.
: All concerned departments, government agencies, and entities are ordered to provide full cooperation to ensure the timely and smooth execution of the project.
: Section 3 repeals, amends, or modifies any orders, proclamations, rules, regulations, or issuances inconsistent with the provisions of this Executive Order.
: The Executive Order took effect immediately on March 28, 2008.
