PROCLAMATION NO. 1179

: Republic Act No. 10625, known as the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, mandates the PSA to be primarily responsible for all national censuses and surveys.
: Section 6(b) of RA No. 10625 mandates the PSA to prepare and conduct periodic censuses on population, housing, agriculture, fisheries, business, industry, and other sectors of the economy.
: The integrated national census of population and other related data shall be conducted every ten (10) years beginning in 1980, with the first day of May of every census year as the reference date.
: Executive Order No. 352 instructs the conduct of a census every ten years primarily to update the population count from the national to the barangay level.
: Proclamation No. 928 declared the month of May 2020 as National Census Month.
: The 2020 Census of Population and Housing was conducted in September 2020.
: The reference date used for the 2020 Census of Population and Housing was 01 May 2020.
: The total population of the Philippines as of 01 May 2020 is 109,035,343 persons.
: Pursuant to Section 8 of Batas Pambansa Blg. 72, the final population count as determined from the processed census returns is considered official only upon proclamation by the President.
