Republic Act No. 10625, known as the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, mandates the PSA to be primarily responsible for all national censuses and surveys.
Section 6(b) of RA No. 10625 mandates the PSA to prepare and conduct periodic censuses on population, housing, agriculture, fisheries, business, industry, and other sectors of the economy.
The integrated national census of population and other related data shall be conducted every ten (10) years beginning in 1980, with the first day of May of every census year as the reference date.
