Executive Order No. 153 declares and delineates the Masao Port Zone in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, and places it under the administrative jurisdiction of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA).
The PPA is mandated to establish, develop, regulate, manage, and operate a rationalized national port system to support trade and national development.
The purpose is to redirect and reorganize port administration for the full development of port districts.
The Masao Port is located in Butuan City, Province of Agusan del Norte.
The Masao Port zone covers an area of approximately 11,497,521.78 square meters.
The PPA is responsible for the proper zoning, planning, development, and utilization of the Masao Port zone in line with government regional industrial plans.
All issuances, orders, rules, and regulations, or parts thereof, which are inconsistent with Executive Order No. 153 are repealed, amended, or modified accordingly.
The Separability Clause in Section 4 provides that if any provision is declared invalid or unconstitutional, the other provisions not affected shall remain valid and subsisting.
Executive Order No. 153 took effect immediately upon its signing on December 6, 2013.
