Questions (EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 137)

The whole month of July of every year is declared as National Disaster Consciousness Month.

To increase awareness of natural and man-made disasters and other emergencies, and to provide ample time for government agencies and local government units to implement disaster awareness campaigns.

The Civil Defense Deputization Program at the local government level.

The Chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) designates the Civil Defense Deputized Coordinators.

Their primary role is to initiate and coordinate programs, projects, and activities on civil protection and disaster management using an integrated multi-sectoral approach.

They serve as the Executive Officers of the Local Disaster Coordinating Councils.

The National Disaster Coordinating Council, Regional Disaster Coordinating Council, and various local disaster coordinating councils.

The NDCC is authorized to call upon any department, agency, office, and instrumentality for necessary assistance in discharging its functions.

Proclamation No. 296 declared only the first week of July as Natural Disaster Consciousness Week and focused primarily on natural disasters, whereas EO No. 137 extends this to a full month and includes man-made disasters.
