The purpose of Act No. 4042 is to create three additional positions of Judge of First Instance at large, define their services, fix their salaries, and provide for the payment thereof, along with other provisions.
Three judges of First Instance at large are created under this Act.
One judge shall have an annual salary of nine thousand pesos, another eight thousand pesos, and the third seven thousand pesos.
The judges are appointed by the Governor-General with the advice and consent of the Senate.
They can serve in such judicial district or with the Public Service Commission as the Secretary of Justice may determine from time to time.
No appointments to fill the offices of Public Service Commissioner, Senior Associate Commissioner, and Junior Associate Commissioner shall be made while this Act is in effect.
Yes, they shall be subject to salary reductions at the same rate per centum as other judges of First Instance.
The appropriations made in Act Numbered Four thousand and thirty-two for the Public Service Commissioners shall be available for the payment of the salaries of judges created by this Act.
This Act took effect upon its approval on February 10, 1933.
No appointments to the offices of Public Service Commissioner and its associate commissioners shall be made while the Act is in effect.
