The purpose of Batas Pambansa Blg. 146 is to create the Municipality of Godod in the Province of Zamboanga del Norte from the southern barangays of the Municipality of Salug.
The barangays composing the Municipality of Godod are Godod, Sianan, Rambon, Baluno, Sarawagan, Guisapong, Dipopor, Limbonga, Bunawan, Miampic, San Pedro, and Raba.
The seat of the municipal government of Godod is located in Barangay Godod.
The territorial jurisdiction is described by natural boundaries including the confluence of Polandoc and Lumogom Rivers, Mucas River, Miampic River, and the provincial boundary between Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur.
The first mayor, vice-mayor, and members of the Sangguniang Bayan of Godod are appointed by the President of the Philippines.
They hold office until their successors have been duly elected and assumed office.
Their qualifications and salaries are those provided for and fixed by existing law.
Godod begins to exist upon approval by a majority of votes cast in a plebiscite conducted by the Commission on Elections in the affected units.
The plebiscite is conducted by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).
The Act took effect upon its approval on February 8, 1982.
