The seat of government of the Municipality of Maasim shall be at the barrio of Maasim.

The boundaries begin at north of Taluc Creek, follow the Creek northward to its uppermost reaches, then due north to the boundary of Kiamba and Surala, eastward to the boundary of Kiamba and General Santos, south to Siguil River, downstream to Sarangani Bay, and westward along the coast back to the starting point.

The municipalities of Kiamba and General Santos retain their present territories minus the portions included in the Municipality of Maasim as delimited in the Executive Order.

Maasim begins to exist upon the appointment and qualification of the Mayor, Vice-Mayor, and majority of the councilors, and upon certification by the Secretary of Finance that the municipality is financially capable to fulfill statutory obligations and essentials services, and that the mother municipalities can still maintain their governance and obligations after segregation.

The Secretary of Finance must certify that Maasim is financially capable of providing all statutory obligations and ordinary essential services, and that the mother municipalities (Kiamba and General Santos) can still maintain creditably their municipal governments and meet statutory and contractual obligations after the territory segregation.

The Executive Order was signed by President Diosdado Macapagal and by Acting Assistant Executive Secretary Juan S. Cancio.
