The executive order is Executive Order No. 444, dated August 29, 1961, which created the municipality of Dangcagan in the province of Bukidnon.

The creation was made pursuant to the provisions of Section 68 of the Revised Administrative Code.

The municipalities of Kibawe and Maramag in the province of Bukidnon contributed barrios and sitios to form Dangcagan.

Twelve barrios and sitios from the Municipality of Kibawe were included.

Seven barrios and sitios from the Municipality of Maramag were included.

The seat of government of Dangcagan shall be at the barrio of Dangcagan.

The boundaries begin at the intersection of the Maramag and Pulangi Rivers and follow various boundary lines including the Maramag and Pulangi Rivers, boundaries of Maramag, San Fernando, Cotabato province, Kibawe, and the Palma, Muleta Rivers and national highway junctions as per the detailed description in the executive order.

It begins to exist upon the appointment and qualification of the mayor, vice mayor, and a majority of the councilors and upon certification by the Secretary of Finance that the new municipality is financially capable of fulfilling its obligations, and that both Kibawe and Maramag can still maintain their municipal governments after the segregation.

The Secretary of Finance must certify that Dangcagan can implement the provisions of the Minimum Wage Law, provide all statutory obligations, and essential services, and that Kibawe and Maramag can still meet their obligations and provide essential municipal services after territorial segregation.

The executive order was signed and approved by President Carlos P. Garcia and by Executive Secretary Natalio P. Castillo.
