The purpose of Executive Order No. 265 is to create the municipality of Padre Burgos in the province of Leyte by segregating certain barrios and sitios from the municipalities of Malitbog and Macrohon.
The barrios of Burgos, Santo Rosario, San Juan, and Triana and the sitios of Lungsodaan, Bunga, Capiniahan, and Magallanes from Malitbog, and the sitio of San Bernardo from Macrohon were segregated to form the municipality of Padre Burgos.
The creation was pursuant to the provisions of section 68 of the Revised Administrative Code.
The seat of government is at the barrio of Burgos.
It begins to exist upon the appointment and qualification of the mayor, vice-mayor, and a majority of the councilors, and upon certification by the Secretary of Finance that the municipality is financially capable of implementing the Minimum Wage Law and meeting statutory obligations.
The Secretary of Finance must certify that the municipality can implement the Minimum Wage Law, provide all statutory obligations and ordinary essential services, and that the mother municipalities can still maintain their governments and obligations after segregation.
Their respective territories will be reduced by the portions constituting Padre Burgos municipality.
Carlos P. Garcia signed it as the President of the Philippines.
Fortunato De Leon signed the order as the Executive Secretary.
The order was signed on August 29, 1957, which was the twelfth year of Philippine independence.
