Limasawa is created in the province of Southern Leyte.
It consists of all barrios and sitios of the whole island of Limasawa, which are segregated from the municipality of Padre Burgos.
The seat of government is at the barrio of Triana.
Padre Burgos shall have its present territory minus the portions included in the territory of the municipality of Limasawa.
It begins to exist upon the appointment and qualification of the Mayor, Vice-Mayor, and a majority of the councilors.
Certification by the Secretary of Finance that the municipality is financially capable of providing statutory obligations and ordinary essential services of a regular municipality.
That Limasawa is financially capable of providing all statutory obligations and ordinary essential services of a regular municipality.
That after segregation, Padre Burgos can still maintain a creditable municipal government, meet statutory and contractual obligations, and provide essential municipal services.
The municipality from which territory is taken—here, the municipality of Padre Burgos—whose remaining territory must still sustain municipal functions after segregation.
