Republic Act No. 9848

: The main purpose of Republic Act No. 9848 is to create five additional branches of the Regional Trial Court and eleven additional branches of the Metropolitan Trial Court in the National Capital Judicial Region to be stationed at Mandaluyong City.
: Five additional Regional Trial Court branches were created for Mandaluyong City.
: Eleven additional Metropolitan Trial Court branches were created for Mandaluyong City.
: Republic Act No. 9848 amends Batas Pambansa Bilang 129, otherwise known as "The Judiciary Reorganization Act of 1980", as amended.
: The Supreme Court is tasked with assigning the branch numbers for the newly created branches.
: Sections 14(d) and 27 of Batas Pambansa Bilang 129 are deemed repealed, modified, or further amended by RA 9848.
: The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, in coordination with the Secretary of the Department of Justice, shall include the implementation of this Act in the Court’s program.
: The funding is to be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
: The Act takes effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in two newspapers of general circulation.
