The title of Republic Act No. 9990 is: An Act Converting the Naawan Barangay High School in Barangay Linangkayan, Municipality of Naawan, Province of Misamis Oriental into a National High School to be known as Naawan National High School and Appropriating Funds Therefor.
Naawan Barangay High School located in Barangay Linangkayan, Municipality of Naawan, Province of Misamis Oriental is converted into a national high school.
The school shall be known as Naawan National High School.
All personnel, assets, liabilities, and records of Naawan Barangay High School are transferred to and absorbed by Naawan National High School.
The Secretary of Education.
The funding shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act as part of the Department of Education's program.
The Secretary of Education shall issue necessary rules and regulations to carry out the purpose of this Act.
It took effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
The Act was approved by the President of the Senate Juan Ponce Enrile, Speaker of the House of Representatives Prospero C. Nograles, Secretary of Senate Emma Lirio-Reyes, Secretary General of the House Marilyn B. Barua-Yap, and President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
The purpose is to officially recognize the school as a national high school to presumably enhance its status, operational capabilities, and access to government funding.
