The main purpose of Republic Act No. 10628 is to provide for the construction of fish ports in the municipalities of Tongkil, Tapul, Lugus, Kalinggalan Caluang, and Siasi in the Province of Sulu, and to appropriate funds for this purpose.
The Department of Agriculture (DA) supervises the construction of fish ports through the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA).
The PFDA is responsible for supervising the construction of the fish ports and coordinating with local government units to formulate rules and regulations for the effective implementation of the Act.
