The Professional Regulatory Board of Dentistry adopts a comprehensive Code of Ethics for Dentists, Dental Hygienists, and Dental Technologists, establishing standards for professional conduct and practice in the dental field.

It adopts and promulgates the Code of Ethics for Dentists, Dental Hygienists, and Dental Technologists, and makes the Code an integral part of the Resolution.

Republic Act No. 9484, the Philippine Dental Act of 2007, specifically under Sec. 6 (Powers and Functions of the Board), Art. II.

Sec. 25, Code of Ethics and Code of Dental Practice of Dentists, Art. IV of R.A. No. 9484.

The Board shall adopt and promulgate the Code of Ethics and Code of Dental Practice for dentists, dental hygienists, and dental technologists prescribed and issued by accredited professional organizations of dentists.

The Philippine Dental Association, Inc. (PDA), an accredited professional organization of dentists.

Proposed Amendments to the Philippine Code of Dental Ethics.

It consulted stakeholders, deliberated on the provisions, and enhanced, subsequently accepted, and embraced the same as part of the Board’s rules and regulations implementing R.A. No. 9484.

The Code of Ethics for Dentists, Dental Hygienists, and Dental Technologists marked as Annex “A” is made an integral part of the Resolution.

After fifteen (15) days following full and complete publication in the Official Gazette, or in any newspaper of general circulation in the Philippines.

Because the effectivity clause conditions the start of effect after the required full and complete publication in the Official Gazette or a newspaper of general circulation.

A copy is to be forwarded to the PDA, Inc. and other dental organizations or societies for dissemination to all concerned.

It was adopted on 17 July 2008.

It was signed by the Chairman and members of the Professional Regulatory Board of Dentistry; it was attested by the Secretary of the Professional Regulatory Boards; and approved by PRC Secretary (on leave) and commissioners.

The Resolution states that the adopted Code is part of the rules and regulations implementing R.A. No. 9484.

It defines ethics as a system of moral principles or values, rules/standards governing professional conduct, and means of doing what is right, fair, and honest.
