The official title is the "Charter of the City of Cabadbaran" as provided in Republic Act No. 9434.
It comprises the present territory of the Municipality of Cabadbaran, Province of Agusan del Norte, with police jurisdiction extending over the drainage area of the city's water supply and within 100 meters of any water-related installations.
The city has perpetual succession, can sue and be sued, use a corporate seal, acquire and convey property, enter contracts, and exercise other corporate powers subject to the law.
The elective officials are the city mayor, city vice mayor, and members of the sangguniang panlungsod including sectoral representatives.
The city mayor must be at least 21 years old, an actual resident of the City for at least one year prior to election, and a qualified voter therein.
The city mayor holds office for three years and receives a minimum monthly compensation corresponding to Salary Grade Thirty (30) as prescribed by law.
