A

Q&A (PRC BOARD Resolution NO. 192)

The primary purpose of PRC Board Resolution No. 192 is to enforce stricter guidelines on the admission process for the nurse licensure examination to eradicate irregular practices such as the submission of spurious or falsified academic documents by applicants.

Accepting applications conditionally with only a Certification from the Registrar stating that the applicant has completed requirements for graduation has promoted irregularities, especially when required documents like Transcript of Records or Diplomas are not yet available.

All Colleges of Nursing must submit at the end of each school year an Official list of their graduates, certified by the Dean and the Registrar, received by the Board at least one month before the examination date. No applicant will be accepted unless their name appears on this list.

Repeaters must submit their complete scholastic records upon application for subsequent examinations; otherwise, their applications will be denied if credentials are deficient or incomplete.

Only graduates from the nursing course of the semester immediately preceding the scheduled examination may submit a certification of completion signed by the Dean and Registrar. Graduates from previous years must submit all required documents or face denial of their application.

Applicants with other degrees who graduated in nursing must be referred to the Board of Nursing for interview or credential review to verify compliance with nursing course requirements before their applications are processed.

Applicants who have cancelled other degrees to gain admission and are found out will be held responsible and face appropriate actions for violations.

Applicants must have graduated from Colleges or Universities recognized by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS), which have been inspected and favorably recommended by the Board and comply with minimum essential requirements as mandated by the Philippine Nursing Law.

All Directors, Deans, and Registrars of Colleges of Nursing must be guided by and comply with the resolution's guidelines and ensure its wide dissemination for strict enforcement.
