The Presidential Council for Youth Affairs is a government body created pursuant to the policy in Article II, Section 13 of the 1987 Constitution, which recognizes the vital role of the youth in nation-building and mandates the State to promote and protect their well-being.
The State shall promote and protect the physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being of the youth, inculcate patriotism and nationalism, and encourage their involvement in public and civic affairs.
The Office of the President is empowered to endorse and assign additional functions, projects, and programs to the Presidential Council for Youth Affairs.
EO No. 351 directs the Presidential Council for Youth Affairs to implement and coordinate the government's undertakings in various international youth programs such as The Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program, The ASEAN Youth Forum, The Asian Youth Council, The World Assembly of Youth, and The International Youth Forum.
