The Republic Act No. 11040 declares April 27 as a special holiday throughout the country and in the City of Lapu-Lapu, Province of Cebu, to commemorate the victory of Lapu-Lapu and his men over the Spaniards in the Battle of Mactan, repealing any conflicting laws or regulations.
