Presidential Decree (PD) No. 1424 is a decree further amending Republic Act (RA) No. 1245, as amended by RA No. 2251, otherwise known as the Hospital Residency Law.
All appointees to vacancies in the different teaching or training hospitals under the Department of Health (DOH) and the Department of National Defense (DND), in various disciplines, are known as “Resident Trainees.”

Anesthesiology is 3 years, which is shorter than most of the other listed disciplines that are 4 years.
Pathology (3 years), Rehabilitation (3 years), and Clinical Pathology (2 years).
Urology is 4 years total: 1 year of General Surgery and 3 years of Urology.
General Practice is “2-A 12 years” as written in the text (likely intended as a range or corrected format), and Tropical Medicine is 2 years.

All laws, decrees, orders, rules and regulations inconsistent with PD No. 1424 are repealed, modified, or amended accordingly.
