The City of Marikina is divided into two legislative districts. The First District comprises barangays Sto. Niño, Malanday, Sta. Elena, San Roque, Calumpang, Tañong, Barangka, Industrial Valley Complex, and Jesus de la Peña. The Second District comprises barangays Nangka, Parang, Concepcion Uno, Concepcion Dos, and Marikina Heights.
The two legislative districts take effect starting from the next national elections to be held after the effectivity of Republic Act No. 9364.
All laws, executive orders, rules, and regulations inconsistent with the provisions of Republic Act No. 9364 are repealed, amended, or modified accordingly.
The Act took effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in at least two newspapers of general circulation after its approval on December 15, 2006.
