To amend Section 3 of Commonwealth Act No. 502, as amended, by redefining the boundaries of Quezon City.
Section 3 of Commonwealth Act No. 502, as amended.
It establishes and prescribes the boundaries and limits of Quezon City, with a total area of 15,359 hectares, more or less.
It begins at point "1", the northwestern corner of the boundary of Quezon City.
Cardinal directions/distances (e.g., due north 660.00 m.), bearings (e.g., N. 43° 30' E.), and natural/physical features such as rivers (Marikina River, Arroyo), creeks (Culiat Creek, Salapan Creek), ridges, roads (old Rosario Road, Santolan Road, Samson Street), and watershed reservation boundaries.
It instructs that the boundary follows the center of the downstream course of rivers (e.g., Marikina River; Arroyo where applicable) and upstream/downstream movements depending on the segment (e.g., upstream following Arroyo between Payatas and Marikina estates).
Point "8" is described as the center of Marikina River.
Point "9" is the intersection of the Arroyo and Marikina River, as described by following the center of the downstream course of Marikina River to that intersection.
After tracing the described segments, the boundary returns by following the existing northern boundary of Quezon City until it reaches the starting point (the point of beginning).
Point "1" is identical to boundary monument No. 1 of Piedad Estate.
It goes “downstream to lowing the Arroyo between Payatas Estate and Marikina Estate to point "3",” which is described as being 100 meters north of the water pipe line of the Metropolitan Water District.
It flows along a ridge southwestward (from point "3" to point "4" where the water pipe line crosses the ravine, and then continuing southwestward to point "5").
It includes moving westward/northwestward along the circumferential road’s eastern right-of-way (Highway 54), then westward along the northern right-of-way of the Santolan Road.
It includes following the intersection with the east boundary of the City of Manila to point "12", then following the east boundary of the City of Manila to point "13" and continuing along the City of Manila boundary to point "14" and then westward along the Manila boundary at a distance of 100 meters to point "15".
It specifies boundary lines are traced parallel to certain roads (Novaliches Road, Samson Street, circumferential road, etc.) at a set offset distance—commonly 100 meters—on specified sides.
The Act shall take effect upon its approval.
It is dated as approved June 18, 1949.
