Q&A (EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 501)

The main purpose of Executive Order No. 501 is to amend Executive Order No. 367 by repealing Section 3, subparagraph (a), which previously made the Presidential Advisers/Assistants for Regional concerns part of the Office of External Affairs, and reassigning them to be part of the Office of the Executive Secretary.

Under EO No. 367, the Office of Constituency Affairs was renamed as the Office of External Affairs (OEA).

After EO No. 501, the Presidential Advisers/Assistants shall be part of the Office of the Executive Secretary.

They are the main and primary representatives of the Office of the President in the regions and are tasked to coordinate with government entities as well as other stakeholders in the region.
