It adopts, promulgates, and issues the Revised National Plumbing Code of the Philippines to govern plumbing practice, including the design, installation, and use of plumbing fixtures and materials in the country.
The Board for Master Plumbers was created under Republic Act No. 1378.
It was prepared by the National Master Plumbers Association of the Philippines (NAMPAP) and promulgated and issued by the Board for Master Plumbers on January 28, 1959.

It governs the practice of plumbing, and the design, installation, and use of plumbing fixtures and materials in buildings and infrastructure projects where such fixtures and materials are necessary.
