EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 45

: The National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA) is mandated to establish the nationwide geodetic control network.
: The new geodetic control network was established using the Global Positioning System (GPS) technology.
: PRS 92 upgraded the old geodetic control network and supports integrated surveying and mapping programs critical for sustainable management and development of the environment, natural resources, and infrastructure activities.
: The transition period to integrate all old surveys into PRS 92 is up to the year 2000, after which only PRS 92 will be recognized as the standard reference system.
: All new surveys and maps must henceforth refer to the new geodetic control network, the Philippine Reference System of 1992 (PRS 92).
: All old surveys must be integrated into the new PRS 92 network, including the adjustment of the coordinates of their corresponding maps.
: The Department of Environment and Natural Resources is instructed to promulgate the guidelines for implementing the provisions of the Order.
: The Executive Order took effect immediately upon its signing on January 5, 1993.
: Antonio T. Carpio, the Chief Presidential Legal Counsel, signed the order on behalf of the President.
