The main purpose of Republic Act No. 5458 is to provide for an additional school division in the Province of Quezon and amend Republic Act No. 3400 accordingly.
According to Republic Act No. 5458, there are three school divisions in the Province of Quezon.
The first school division includes all the municipalities in the sub-province of Aurora, with the permanent station of the superintendent of schools in the Municipality of Baler.
The permanent station of the superintendent of schools of the second division is in the Municipality of Mauban.
The second division includes the municipalities of Mauban, Sampaloc, Infanta, Real, General Nakar, Polillo, and Burdeos, as well as the municipal districts of Jumalig, Panukulan, and Patnanungan.
The third division comprises all the rest of the municipalities of the Province of Quezon, with the permanent station of the superintendent of schools in the City of Lucena.
The Director of Public Schools is responsible for reorganizing the school divisions of the Province of Quezon into three divisions.
The reorganization took effect commencing with the school year 1967 to 1968.
Funding is authorized to be appropriated from any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated for the school year 1967-1968, and in subsequent years from the General Appropriations Act.
Republic Act No. 5458 took effect upon its approval on April 3, 1969.
