Creation of Southern Leyte Province

Republic Act No. 2227 creates the Province of Southern Leyte, separating several municipalities from the Third Representative District of Leyte, with Maasin as the provincial capital, and establishes the division of obligations, funds, assets, and properties between the two provinces.
