Reporting of Deaths of Large Cattle

  • Owners or managers must report any death of large cattle within 30 days of becoming aware of it, except deaths caused by conditions described in Section 532 (not provided here).
  • Reports must be made to the municipal treasurer of the municipality where the owner resides or where the death occurred.
  • Upon reporting, owners must surrender the certificate of ownership or transfer of the dead animal to the treasurer.

Registration of Deaths and Cancellation of Certificates

  • The municipal treasurer shall register the death in the record and cancel all related ownership or transfer certificates.
  • Any certificate related to the deceased animal found in the possession of any person shall be seized and disposed of as prescribed by the Act.

Transmission and Filing of Records

  • The municipal treasurer must forward a copy of the monthly record of deaths along with canceled certificates to the provincial treasurer.
  • The provincial treasurer shall properly file and index these records under the owner’s name, including dates of deaths and permits.

Effectivity

  • The Act takes effect immediately upon approval on December 2, 1926.
