The original set of syllabi for the Environmental Planners Licensure Examination was adopted on September 4, 1994, through Board Resolution No. 04, Series of 1994.
The Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners (PIEP) and the academe were involved in the series of consultations regarding the revision of the syllabi.
The revised syllabi shall be used starting with the first Licensure Examination of Environmental Planners in the year 2001.
The resolution took effect after fifteen (15) days following its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation in the Philippines, whichever was earlier.
The deans of schools, colleges, and universities offering environmental planning courses are to be furnished copies of the resolution for dissemination to their graduates and students.
The resolution was approved by Hermogenes P. Pobre, Commission Chairman; Alfonso G. Abad, Associate Commissioner; and Avelina De La Rea-Tan, Associate Commissioner.
The document denominated as the Revised Syllabi for the Environmental Planners Licensure Examination, marked as Annex "A", forms an integral part of the resolution.
The revision was necessary due to perceived changes and latest trends in the practice of the environmental planning profession since the adoption of the original syllabi in 1994.
