Subsequently, on October 31, 1935, Original Certificate of Title No. 1291 was issued in Uson's name. On August 10, 1939, Uson sold the land to Francisco Valera for P600, and upon registration of the sale, Transfer Certificate of Title No. 3313 was issued in Valera's name by the Register of Deeds of Nueva Vizcaya. Marcelo Uson passed away in 1944. On October 22, 1948, Uson's wife, Flaviana Garcia, along with their two minor children, Alfonso and Rubio Uson, filed a complaint in the Court of First Instance of Nueva Vizcaya. They sought to have Valera reconvey the land sold by Uson and demanded damages of P100 per year from the date of the complaint. After trial, the court ruled that the sale from Uson to Valera was null and void, ordering Valera to return the property to the plaintiffs, who were instructed to pay Valera P600 with legal interest.
